Hetrick Nancee Hetrick, (Executive Director), was recently appointed by the board to the position of Executive Director.  Nancee is a West Lafayette Police Officer and has been actively involved with Indiana COPS since their inception as a chapter in 1997.  She became involved with survivors through her involvement with the Indiana Fraternal Order of Police Critical Incident/Memorial Team which responds on all line of duty deaths throughout the state. She a trainer for her department and is also trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and Peer Support. She is actively involved with COPS and is currently a regular mentor at COPS Kids Camp a national Hands On Program for the surviving children of officers killed in the line of duty.  Nancee can be reached by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Winters
Molly Winters, (Past Executive Director) is the surviving spouse of Muncie Police Officer Gregg Winters, who was killed in the line of duty on January 8, 1991, when he was shot while transporting a prisoner. Molly is the director of the Indiana Chapter of COPS and is active with the Indiana Critical Incident/Memorial Team. She is also very involved with her two sons. She was on the COPS board from it's inception in 1997 until recently stepping down, and was National President of COPS from May 2000 through May 2002. Molly is also one of COPS law enforcement trainers traveling nationwide to give training in areas from being prepared with General Orders for line-of-duty deaths, to cultural differences that influence law enforcement funerals, to just explaining what COPS is and how they can help. Pooh Brukentta (Pooh) Geisler, (Co-President) is the surviving sister of Pulaski County deputy Shadron Bassett E.O.W. 10/7/05. Shad died in a single vehicle accident while responding to an officer needing assistance. Brukentta is a wife and stay at home mom of four children, Zack, Kelsey, Caleb, and Micah. Brukentta is currently serving as co-president of IN COPS and hopes to participate in other venues of honoring our fallen and their surviving families. As well as the heroes who serve everyday. Herbert Carolyn Dudley, (Co-President) Carolyn is the surviving spouse of Indiana State Police Lt. Gary Dudley, who was killed on August 22, 2006 while participating in the annual COPS Cycling for IN COPS bicycle ride. Retired Lake County Chief Gary Martin was also killed in the crash. At the time of his death, Gary had served over 26 ½ years with the Indiana State Police, and was the Commander of the ISP Recruit Academy. Herbert Cindy Winzenread, (Vice President) is the surviving spouse of Indiana State Trooper Andrew Patrick Winzenred (EOW 04-25-1997), who was stuck and killed by a semi while assisting a motorist. Patrick Dawn Veirs, (Secretary), Dawn is the surviving daughter of Marion County Sheriff's Department Deputy Floyd "Tom" Settles, EOW 2/24/72.  Tom was shot and killed when he responded to a bank robbery eight months before Dawn was born.  Dawn has worked for the MArion County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher until recently when she accepted a position with the Butler University Police Department as a Communications Officer.  Dawn holds IN COPS very close to her heart and looks forward to working with other survivors.  She hopes in the future to work closely with other children of fallen officers and to be an encouragement to them.  Dawn is a wife and mother to two children. Stevens Lisa Stevens, (Central Liaison) Detective Lisa Stevens, central liaison, was an officer with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for over 30 years before its merger with the Indianapolis Police Department in 2007. She is currently a detective in the missing persons unit with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Lisa is an active member of FOP Lodge # 86, and the mother of one daughter. Hamer Officer Joe Hamer, (Co-Northern Liaison Officer) has been an officer with the Gary Police Department since 2001. Currently assigned to the Community Oriented Policing Division, Joe is a certified G.R.E.A.T. Instructor, as well as a Field Training Officer. Joe became a member of the Gary Honor Guard in 2002. He has been an active member of the Indiana State Critical Incident/Memorial Team since 2003. Joe is trained in Debriefings and Peer Support. Joe has been an active chaplain for the police department since 2005 and is currently the chaplain of the F.O.P. "Ben K. Perry" Lodge #61 of Lake County. Through his involvement with the Critical Incident/Memorial team and the state FOP, Joe was recently appointed the vice president’s position of the Indiana Memorial Foundation. Taylor Officer Doug Taylor, (Southern Liaison Officer) K-9/Captain Doug Taylor, Indiana COPS Southeastern Liaison Officer, has served in Law Enforcement since 1989. Doug started at Ohio County Sheriff Department in 1989 where he worked as a deputy until 1991. In 1991 Doug was hired by the Lawrenceburg Police Department where he serves as one of the K-9 Officers of the department. Doug was the first K-9 Officer in the history of Lawrenceburg Police Department, and has been in K-9/Patrol for the past 14 years. Doug and his Police K-9 Rico have conducted numerous K-9 Demonstrations in most of the area schools. Doug was recently promoted to the rank of Captain. Doug is a 1981 graduate of Vincennes University, with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. Doug assists his parents with the family owned business, Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home in Rising Sun, Indiana. Doug is married with three children and enjoys spending time with his family.
